What is PVC (PolyVinyl Chloride)?

Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC or Vinyl) is an economical and versatile thermoplastic polymer. It is widely used in the building and construction industry to produce door and window profiles. It also finds use in:

  • drinking and wastewater pipes,
  • wire and cable insulation,
  • medical devices, etc.

It is the world’s third-largest thermoplastic by volume after polyethylene and polypropylene.
PVC is now replacing traditional building materials in several applications. These materials include wood, metal, concrete, rubber, ceramics, etc. in several applications. This is due to its versatile properties such as:

  • lightweight,
  • durable,
  • low cost, and
  • easy processability.

What are the basic forms of PVC?

Polyvinyl Chloride is widely available in two broad categories: Flexible and Rigid. But there are more types like CPVC, PVC-O and PVC-M.

  • Plasticized or Flexible PVC (Density: 1.1-1.35 g/cm3): Flexible PVCis formed by the addition of compatible plasticizers to PVC which lower the crystallinity. These plasticizers act like lubricants resulting in a much clearer and flexible plastic. This type of PVC is sometimes called as PVC-P.

  • Unplasticized or Rigid PVC (Density: 1.3-1.45 g/cm3): Rigid PVCis a stiff and cost-effective plastic. It shows high resistance to impact, water, weather, chemicals and corrosive environments. This type of PVC is also known as UPVC, PVC-U or uPVC.

  • Chlorinated Polyvinyl Chloride or perchlorovinyl: It is prepared by chlorination of PVC resin. High chlorine content imparts high durability, chemical stability and flame retardancy. CPVCcan withstand a wider range of temperatures.

  • Molecular Oriented PVC or PVC-O: It is formed by reorganizing the amorphous structure of PVC-U into a layered structured. Bi-axially oriented PVC has enhanced physical characteristics (stiffness, fatigue resistance, lightweight, etc.).

  • Modified PVC or PVC-M: It is an alloy of PVC formed by addition of modifying agents, resulting in enhanced toughness and impact properties.

What are the key properties of PVC?

PVC is a very versatile and cost-effective material. Its main properties and benefits include:

Electrical Properties: PVC is a good insulation material. Thanks to its good dielectric strength.

Durability: PVC is resistant to weathering, chemical rotting, corrosion, shock, and abrasion. It is the preferred choice for many long-life and outdoor products.

Flame Retardancy: Because of its high chlorine content, PVC products are self-extinguishing. Its oxidation index is ≥45. Antimony trioxide has been extensively used in combination with phosphate ester plasticizers. This gives excellent fire performance and mechanical properties.

Cost/Performance Ratio: PVC has good physical as well as mechanical properties. It also provides excellent cost-performance advantages. It has a long life span and needs low maintenance.

Mechanical Properties: PVC is abrasion-resistant, lightweight, and tough.

Chemical Resistance: PVC is resistant to all inorganic chemicals. It has very good resistance against diluted acids, diluted alkalis, and aliphatic hydrocarbons. Some grades are attacked by:

ketones and esters,

chlorinated and aromatic hydrocarbons,

aromatic ethers and amines, and

nitro-compounds

Is PVC recyclable?

Products made from PVC are 100% recyclable. They can be identified as recycling code #3.
Adopting an appropriate recycling pathway for PVC is of economic value and has an environmental benefit. Key methods for PVC recycling include:

Mechanical Recycling

In mechanical recycling, the PVC waste is treated through shredding, sieving, and grinding. Depending on the composition, the quality of the recyclates can vary a lot. To discard impurities within these recyclates they are further:

  • mechanically separated,
  • ground,
  • washed, and
  • treated

It is reprocessed using various granulated or powder techniques and reused in production. “High-quality” recyclates can be re-used in the same types of applications. “Low-quality” recyclates can only be used in products made from other materials.

Chemical Recycling

Chemical recycling breaks up polymer into monomers and other substances.

  • Monomers– Used to produce new polymers.
  • Other substances– Used as starting materials in processes of the basic chemical industry.

The Chlorine is set free in the form of HCl that can be re-used or neutralized to form various products. Stabilizers containing heavy metals mostly end up in solid residues that will most probably have to be landfilled.

Feedstock Recycling

It usually involves thermal treatment of the PVC waste stream with the recovery of hydrogen chloride. It can be then returned to the PVC production process or used in other processes.

Recycled PVC can be used to produce packaging, film and sheet, loose-leaf binders, pipes, carpet backing, electrical boxes, cables and more. The industry is working with the regulatory authorities to ensure that recycling activities remain sustainable while complying with the regulatory regime.

Price of Polypropylene

PRICE OF POLYPROPYLENE

Price of polypropylene (Best price)

WHAT IS POLYPROPYLENE?

Polypropylene, also known as polypropene, is a versatile thermoplastic polymer that you can use in various applications. For clarification, thermoplastic, often called thermosoft plastic, is any plastic polymer substance that becomes flexible and moldable at high temperatures and hardens at low temperatures. This capability, combined with polypropylene’s capacity to melt rather than burn when subjected to high temperatures, are two essential characteristics that make it a sought-after choice for manufacturing applications.

Among all commercial plastics, this linear hydrocarbon resin is the lightest. Manufacturers can considerably enhance PP with particular additives. But what does polypropylene mean? Polypropylene is a polyolefin that is tougher than polyethylene. It is a low-density, high-heat resistance commodity plastic with the chemical formula C3H6. Industries such as packaging, medical, automotive, consumer goods and cast films typically use PP.

PP can be:

    • Hard or soft
    • Light or heavy
    • Opaque or transparent
    • Insulating or conductive
  • Neat or reinforced with other inexpensive mineral fillers, short or long glass fibers and natural or self-reinforced fibers

TYPES OF POLYPROPYLENE

There are two primary types of polypropylene — homopolymer and copolymer. Depending on its usage, you’ll require a specific kind of polypropylene. Some people call PP the “steel” of the plastic industry due to its adaptability to serve specific purposes, generally by adding particular ingredients or producing them uniquely. Here are the critical differences between the two polypropylene types.

TYPES OF POLYPROPYLENE
  • Polypropylene homopolymer: This type is the most widely used general-purpose PP. When polymerizing a single monomer to produce a macromolecule, a homopolymer forms. A homopolymer consists of repeating units of a single monomer type. Examples of homopolymers include polycaprolactam, polyester and polyethylene.
  • Polypropylene copolymer: Polymerizing more than one kind of monomer generates a copolymer. As a result, a copolymer always contains two or more types of repeating units created by a process known as condensation polymerization. Examples of copolymers include ethylene-vinyl acetate, high-impact polystyrene and acrylonitrile butadiene styrene.

Unlike homopolymers, copolymers have further classifications depending on the arrangement of the monomers on the main chain. There are two subtypes of copolymers.

  • Polypropylene block copolymer: PP-BC comprises comonomer units organized in a regular pattern and contains 5% to 15% ethylene. Ethylene increases specific qualities, like impact resistance, whereas other additions improve others.
  • Polypropylene random copolymer: This subtype goes through the process of polymerizing ethene and propene together. In contrast to PP-BC, the comonomer units in PP-RC occur in irregular or random patterns along the polypropylene molecule. They mix about 1% to 7% ethylene for applications requiring a more flexible, transparent result.

WHAT IS POLYPROPYLENE FOR?

Because of polypropylene’s characteristics, you can apply it in residential and industrial settings. Its adaptability to diverse manufacturing processes and applications distinguishes it as a primary player in the plastic industry. Another significant property is PP’s capacity to behave as a plastic and a fiber. Here are a few polypropylene uses in various industries.

  • Product packaging: PP offers outstanding barrier qualities, making it an excellent choice for packaging applications. It provides strength, water resistance and superior surface quality at a low cost. Polypropylene plastic works well when blow-molded or thermoformed to create packaging shapes for items like food, personal care products and medical and laboratory items. Crates, bottles and pots are examples of blow-molded polypropylene plastic for flexible packaging, whereas items like syringes and reusable food containers are examples of thermoformed polypropylene plastic for more rigid packaging.
  • Automotive parts: Due to PP’s excellent mechanical and chemical qualities and moldability, the automotive industry relies on it to produce bumpers, battery boxes and trays, instrument panels, fender liners, door trims and other interior elements.
  • Fabrics: The fibers and fabrics industry uses a significant amount of PP. Raffia or slit-film, strapping, tape, staple fibers, continuous bulk filament, spun bond and continuous filaments are all applications for PP fiber. PP rope and twine are robust and moisture-resistant, making them ideal for marine applications.
  • Medical supplies: PP’s microbiological, chemical and steam sterilization resistance makes it incredibly useful in medical settings. You can find polypropylene in disposable syringes, pill containers, Petri dishes, medical vials, intravenous bottles, diagnostic devices and food trays.
  • Cable protection: Polypropylene is a durable solution to protect cables from operational and environmental stresses like water, chemicals, foot traffic and even rodent predation. Examples of PP cable protection include plastic conduits and cable drag chains. Cable protection is crucial because cables are subject to substantial strain during their lives, which causes them to decay. They usually require replacement if they have deteriorated to the point that they can no longer perform their tasks or are hazardous to use.

WHAT IS POLYPROPYLENE FOR?

PROS AND CONS OF POLYPROPYLENE MATERIALS

Because of its durability, flexibility and other advantages, polypropylene is a popular material for the packaging, automotive, medical and fabric industries. Before using it, consider its upsides and downsides.

Advantages

Polypropylene has several advantages that contribute to its popularity among producers who may put it to use in various applications. See below for PP’s primary benefits.

  • High tensile strength: Polypropylene has a high tensile strength, which means it can carry about 27 MPa or 4,000 pounds per square inch, making it an excellent material for large loads.
  • Flexibility and malleability: When polypropylene reaches its melting point, it can mold into any desired shape numerous times without deteriorating. PP is malleable, which means it may form into a living hinge or a piece of material that can repeatedly bend without breaking.
  • Highly water-resistant: Polypropylene absorbs less than 0.01% of its weight when soaked in water. This quality makes it ideal for objects that require waterproofing.
  • Good chemical resistance: Because of its chemical qualities, polypropylene doesn’t react with acids, making it perfect for containers designed to retain acidic solutions such as cleaning chemicals. Since it is also resistant to corrosion and chemical leakage, it’s excellent for pipe systems.
  • Excellent electrical insulator: Polypropylene doesn’t conduct electricity effectively. As a result, it’s a leading choice for insulating electrical components such as cables and audio equipment.

Disadvantages

Like any manufactured material, propylene has various downsides that consumers and producers should be aware of before using it.

  • High thermal expansion coefficient: Polypropylene has a limit to its high-temperature applications, as a high thermal expansion coefficient means that the material will expand when heated. Thermal expansion is a material’s tendency to alter size, shape and volume as its temperature rises.
  • Susceptible to UV degradation: Polypropylene is unsuitable for usage at high altitudes or in areas with strong UV penetration, as it’s vulnerable to UV degradation.
  • Poor bonding properties: Polypropylene has poor bonding characteristics, making it challenging to paint.
  • Highly flammable: Polypropylene is combustible and will quickly melt when heated. Its flashpoint is only 260 degrees Celsius.
  • Prone to oxidation: Polypropylene has restricted usage in high temperatures due to chain breakdown, which can result in oxidation — causing cracks in the PP.

What is Polystyrene?

Polystyrene (PS) refers to the polymer synthesized by free radical polymerization of styrene monomer with the chemical formula (C8H8)n.

It is a colorless and transparent thermoplastic with a glass conversion temperature higher than 100°C, which is widely used in the manufacture of various disposable containers and disposable foam lunch boxes that need to withstand boiling water temperatures. Polystyrene includes regular PS, foaming polystyrene (EPS), high impact polystyrene (HIPS) and inter-gauge polystyrene (SPS).

Ordinary polystyrene materials are non-toxic, odorless, colorless and transparent particles with excellent electrical insulation, remarkable processing fluidity, especially high transparency with a light transmittance of more than 90%. The disadvantages of ordinary polystyrene are brittleness, low impact strength, susceptibility to stress cracking, and poor heat and boiling water resistance.

HIPS is a copolymer of styrene and butadiene, where butadiene acts as a dispersed phase to increase the impact strength of the material, while the product is opaque.

SPS is a new type of polystyrene, which uses metallocene catalysts to form a mutually homogeneous structure, and belongs to engineering plastics with excellent performance.

Application

Due to its advantages of transparency, cheapness, rigidity, insulation, and good printability, PS is widely used in the light industry market, daily decoration, lighting instructions and packaging.

PS is also a raw material for membranes with high porosity, average pore size and mechanical properties.

In addition, PS can be used in powder and emulsion cosmetics because of its perfect compressibility, which enhances powder adhesion.

As an advanced filler, PS can replace talc and silica to impart radiance and lubrication to the skin.

At the same time, PS is an excellent electrical insulating material and thermal insulating material, which can be made into various instrument housings, lamp covers, photochemical instrument parts and capacitor dielectric layers. Furthermore, polystyrene-based microspheres can be used as oxygen sensors for precise analysis of dissolved oxygen in certain liquids and for monitoring cellular respiration.

PS is known as one of the five most widely used general-purpose plastics in the world. Currently, the development of polystyrene has the following characteristics: large-scale production equipment, intelligent production control, and product specialization. Polyethylene supplier (HDPE , LDPE , LLDPE)

Polyethylene  (HDPE , LDPE , LLDPE)

Polyethylene supplier from Iran

What is polyethylene?

Polyethylene is a type of thermoplastic polymer (it melts due to heat and becomes hard or solid again after cooling), which has a variable crystal structure and is used for different purposes depending on its type.

In fact, PE (abbreviation of Polyethylene) is a light and versatile resin that is made by the polymerization process of ethylene and is a member of the polyolefin resin family.

Types of  PE

PE , which are also called polyethylene, are divided into three main categories based on density, polymer chain size and the number of branches:

HDPE or heavy polyethylene (high density)

LDPE or light polyethylene (low density)

LLDPE or linear polyethylene (low density)

Petro Pars Arghvan is a supplier of all kinds of polyethylene

Heavy polyethylene

This type of heavy polyethylene is also called High Density polyethylene. HDPE is a type of unbranched polymer chain PE. This factor has caused the intermolecular force in the chains to be high. Therefore, it has higher tensile strength than other types. The polymerization of HDPE is carried out at relatively low pressure and temperatures. It is true that its impact resistance is lower than the light type, but it has a very high resistance to chemicals. For this reason, it has been used to make toys, cable and wire coating, and it has also replaced raw materials such as stone and wood. In general, the characteristics of this type of PE include the following:

1-High resistance to weather

2-Suitable for acidic environments

3-Resistant to decay and mold

4-Recyclable and suitable for disposable products

Light polyethylene

Another type of light PE is Low Density polyethylene or LDPE, which has a branched chain. The presence of these branched chains has made them not bond as well as HDPE. As a result, they have a weak intermolecular force and have lower tensile strength than the heavy type. LDPE has a lower density and therefore better flexibility than heavy.

For this reason, it is often used for covers, transparent talc coatings, compressed bottles, food, sanitary, pharmaceutical, etc. packaging. In general, the features of low density or light PE include the following:

1-High resistance to dilute acids and alkalis

2-High impact strength at low temperatures

3-Adaptability to different climates

Linear light polyethylene

This type of polyethylene is also called linear low density polyethylene. LLDPE is also a linear polymer with short branches. LLDPE polyethylene has a lower density than LDPE. It has a very high resistance against tearing and piercing. It has a very reasonable price and its mechanical and chemical resistance is very favorable. It also has a higher melting point and is a very suitable option for packaging hot products. This type of polyethylene is often used to produce doors, plastic covers, making buckets, etc. Among the features of LLDPE, the following can be mentioned:

1-Very high mechanical and chemical resistance

2-Strong and strong

3-It has a shiny surface and is resistant to cracking

4-High pressure tolerance

5-It has several times more tear resistance than other polyethylenes

Petro Pars Arghvan is a supplier (HDPE, LDPE , LLDPE)

What are polymers?

A polymer or resin is a chemical compound containing molecules that are linked together in long and repetitive chains. Because of this special structure, polymers have unique properties that can be designed for different applications.

Polymers are both man-made and naturally occurring. For example, rubber is a natural polymer that has been used for thousands of years. Another natural polymer, shellac is a resin that is produced by the lac insect in India and Thailand and is used as a paint primer, sealant and varnish.

Polymer structure

Many common polymers are composed of hydrocarbons, compounds of carbon and hydrogen. These polymers are specifically made of carbon atoms linked together in long chains. Due to the carbon nature of the structure of these compounds, one or more other atoms can be attached to each of the carbon atoms in the main body.

There are polymers that contain only carbon and hydrogen atoms. Polyethylene, polypropylene, polybutylene, polystyrene and polymethylpentene are examples of these. Polyvinyl chloride (PVC) has chlorine attached to an all-carbon core, and Teflon contains fluorine attached to an all-carbon body.

Sometimes the subgroups connect two chains together instead of hanging from one polymer chain, which is called cross-linking. They mostly have a strengthening role in the structure of polymers, for example, they make it difficult to melt the polymer. However, the longer the crosslinks, the more flexible these compounds become.

The most common natural polymer on earth is the cellulose polymer, which is an organic compound found in the cell walls of plants and used to produce paper products, textiles, and other materials such as cellophane.

Petro Pars Arghvan is a supplier of polymer materials and products

Polymer properties

Depending on the type of application, polymers with different characteristics can be made and some of their beneficial properties can be used. These features are described below:

Reflectivity: Some polymers are used to produce reflective films that are used in a variety of light-related technologies.

Impact resistance: Strong plastics that can withstand transportation are very suitable for making luggage, all kinds of protectors, car bumpers and more.

Brittleness: Some forms of polystyrene are hard and brittle and deform with heat.

Transparency: Transparent polymers, including polymer clay, are often used in arts and crafts.

Malleability: Unlike brittle polymers, ductile polymers can deform without breaking apart. Metals such as gold, aluminum and steel are known for their malleability. Although not as strong as other polymers, ductile polymers are useful for many purposes.

Elasticity: Natural and synthetic rubbers have elasticity, which makes them ideal products for the production of car tires and similar products.

Types of polymers:

Polyethylene (PE)

Polypropylene (PP)

Polycarbonates (PC)

Polystyrene (PS)

Polyvinyl chloride (PVC)

Polyethylene terephthalate (PET)

1. Legal corpus: rules and regulations for foreign investments in Iran

The legal corpus for foreign investments in the Islamic Republic of Iran consists of the Foreign Investment Promotion and Protection Act (FIPPA) and the FIPPA Implementing Regulations as well as the applicable laws for the establishment and conduct of economic activities in the Country. While potential investors are advised to have a thorough understanding of the laws that are directly related to their interests, they are also advised to familiarize themselves with certain legal provisions that are fundamental to their day-to-day affairs, such as those relating to company formation and administration (commercial code and company law); Registration of companies, branches, and representative offices; Import/export regulations; Taxation; Protection of industrial and intellectual property; Situation of foreigners (entry, residence and work permit); Banking and insurance; Regulations of free and special economic zones, etc.

Status of FIPPA:

Since 1955, the legal framework of the Iranian foreign investment regime has been defined in the Law on the Attraction and Protection of Foreign Investment (LAPFI). In addition, in line with the reforms of the general economic framework, the Iranian Parliament has committed to propose and approve a plan for a new Foreign Investment Law, entitled: The Law on Promotion and Protection of Foreign Investment (FIPPA), ratified in May 2002 approve has been in force since 1955. The replacement of LAPFI by FIPPA has further improved the legal framework and the general conditions for foreign investors in Iran. Some specific enhancements introduced by FIPPA for foreign investment in Iran can be described as follows:

Broader areas for foreign investor participation, including key infrastructure; Recognizing new models of foreign capital exposure in addition to FDI, e.g. project Financing, Buy-Back agreements, and Build, Operate & Transfer programs; simplified and quick approval and licensing process for investments; Creation of a one-stop institution called “Foreign Investment Service Center” in the Organization for Investment, Economic and Technical Assistance of Iran (OIETAI) to provide targeted and efficient support to foreign investment ventures in Iran; Greater liberalization of foreign exchange mechanisms for foreign investors; Introduction of new legal possibilities for relations with state investors. General Macroeconomic Framework and Structural Mechanisms: The development of foreign investment applications in Iran since the ratification of FIPPA shows that the new economic environment and the improved legal and regulatory framework for foreign investment have opened up great foreign investment potential for Iran through a concern and effort that aims to provide transparent communication of the latest state of the art in dynamic foreign investment and the economic framework of Iran.

FIPPA Highlights:

General Features: The Government of the Islamic Republic of Iran welcomes foreign investment in all areas of the economic activity of foreign persons, including individuals and legal entities. An investor is defined as natural and legal persons as well as Iranian citizens and companies based in Iran or abroad. Equipment, raw materials, spare parts, specialized services, and intellectual property for investment purposes in industry, mining, agriculture, and services are entitled to the privileges and facilities of FIPPA. The advantages and facilities shall be granted to foreign investors who obtain the Investment License. In general, foreign investment in Iran is free for all investors, but such facilities and privileges are only granted to those investors seeking FIPPA coverage by filing an application with OIETAI, the central government agency, which is licensed and to protect the interests of foreign investors during the useful life of their activity in Iran, regardless of the nature and form of the investment Commits the Iranian government not only to facilitate the free flow of capital repatriation but also to provide full and fair compensation for government expropriation measures and disruption to the activities of foreign investors. Under FIPPA, foreign capital is defined very broadly and diversely and can be in the form of cash or material assets, i.e. machines and equipment, raw materials, spare parts, specialized services, and intellectual property.

It should be noted that under FIPPA, it is not legally allowed to impose restrictions of any kind on the manner of investment, type of investment, investment volume, percentage of ownership, repatriation of profits and capital, as well as the internal relationships between the parties.

2.Covered Risks:

In general, FIPPA provides complete protection against risks that are commonly referred to as “non-commercial risks.” These risks are usually insured by export credit and investment insurance agencies. and expropriation remains the cornerstone of the risks attributed to an investment in a host country. FIPPA honors all rights and privileges of investors by facilitating and providing the necessary foreign exchange for transfer purposes, matters to be related to the transfer of benefits. as well as issues related to the repatriation of capital, in fact, the FIPPA recognizes the right of transfer as the fundamental right of foreign investors. There is no limit to the amount of profit that can be transferred, as well as the amount of capital and capital gains that can be repatriated. In the area of expropriation and nationalization of foreign assets, FIPPA recognizes the rights of investors to receive compensation based on the market value of the expropriated assets immediately on the day prior to the expropriation. In addition to the foregoing, FIPPA also recognizes the rights of foreign investors in cases where, as a result of the passage of a law and/or by decision of the government, the implementation of a project is taken or interrupted, in such cases, the government has an obligation to all Guarantee payments that should be paid when due.

3.Facilities Offered:

FIPPA manufactures and offers a variety of new facilities, all of which are geared and oriented towards the interests of foreign investors. Of importance is the establishment of the Center for Foreign Investment Services (CFIS) in the OIETAI facilities, which enables newcomers, irrespective of whether they are Iranian or foreign, to have direct access to relevant government organizations and authorities via the resident representatives of these organizations, while at the same time providing up-to-date information without having to make use of them Gathering first-hand information from the most relevant agencies the decision-making and investment implementation phase based on preliminary studies on the feasibility of the project, compilation of information on the regulatory framework and preparatory work. For the granting of investment permits, the right to the operational phase, which may require certain coordination and monitoring activities for the appropriate realization of the investment project. From FIPPA’s point of view, foreign investors enjoy the same and equal treatment as local investors. There should be no discrimination against foreign investors and all facilities, privileges, and exceptions are extended to foreign investors equally. Most-favored nation treatment can, however, also apply to investors from countries with which the Iranian government has concluded a bilateral investment treaty (BIT), which provides for more favorable treatment than national treatment.

Under FIPPA, the form, type, and scope of the investment, the participation rate or profit and capital repatriation, as well as the internal relationships between the parties to the investment project are not restricted. In addition, FIPPA is introducing new legal options. In terms of government-investor relations, it symbolizes the Iranian government’s responsive and constructive approach to safeguarding the interests of foreign investors. There are several cases in FIPPA, as well as in the Implementing Regulation, which focus on the freedom of the foreign investor to choose between a variety of alternatives, the best option compatible with their expectations, which may range from one choice, among other things the participation quota, the management, the compensation claims resulting from the expropriation, the additional security roof to receive the compensation resulting from the state intervention to a wide range of transfer options from access to the banking system to free access for exports and other income in Foreign currency and the like.

*Recognition of the fundamental rights of foreign investors as well as equal treatment of local investors, the introduction of new legal possibilities with regard to relations with state investors, facilitation of entry and exit visas, residence and work permits, etc., the simplified and accelerated investment permit and approval procedures are just some of the new possibilities offered to foreign investors under FIPPA.

Last but not least, there are a number of facilities in the areas of entry and exit visas, residence and work permits for investors, managers, directors, and experts as well as their immediate relatives that create long-term comfort and trust with those associated with investment projects through a constant presence on the asset they have invested.

4.Broad Perspective:

FIPPA envisages investment in all areas of economic activity in Iran In fact, there is no area other than those related to arms, ammunition, and collateral, which are closed to foreign investment According to Article (3) of FIPPA divides foreign investment into two broad categories:

*Foreign direct investment (capital investment), in all areas open to the Iranian private sector through participation in the capital stock of Iranian companies, either in entirely new projects or in existing Un company or company. The investments are not limited in percentage terms, contrary to previously announced that a foreign investor cannot hold more than 49% of the shares in Iran. Such a restriction is completely irrelevant and even contradicts current general policy and legislation.

*Foreign “indirect” Investment (Non-equity Forms) within the framework of contractual agreements that provide for any type of investment according to FIPPA except direct investments. Although the agreements recognized under FIPPA are limited to civil participation, repurchase, and BOT agreements, but any of the forms can be divided into different types under the same title. Different types of BOOT, BOO, BLT, ROT, etc., as well as project finance and profit-sharing agreements, are of importance, meaning any type of investment that the investor is not involved in and/or does not qualify from a property perspective falls into these broad category known as “indirect” investment. This category stipulates that foreign investors penetrate into areas that are closed to the sector themselves or into areas of upstream fields or national projects in which direct participation is not permitted by law.

Regardless of the type of investment, foreign capital within the meaning of FIPPA is not only the funds that are paid out to cover the investors’ participation in the capital stock, but also the funds that can be made available to an Iranian recipient company in the form of loans and financial facilities (Shareholder loans and debt financing).

The term foreign capital in the sense of FIPPA can include both. How the loan is treated under FIPPA depends on the wishes and consent of the investor. Investors/financiers have two options: One option is to take the loan to be treated as part of the foreign investor’s investment in the project; In this case, the repayment of the loan depends on the economic performance of the project, without a repayment guarantee from the state, banking system and/or state-owned companies. The other option is to treat the loan as a stand-alone funding alternative outside of FIPPA coverage. In this case, the reimbursement can be secured by a guarantee from one of the authorities a. In summary, FIPPA coverage only applies to funds that enter the country as investments and not to funds whose repayment is guaranteed through bank instruments.

In addition to direct investment (FDI), other investments can also be made in various forms of foreign financial facilities, such as buyback arrangements, various BOT schemes, project financing, and civil partnership modalities can also enjoy the coverage of FIPPA.

5.Investment Approval and Application Process

According to FIPPA, the approval process for investment permits is very short and simplified. As shown below, the entire approval process is structured in four stages as follows:

Stage 1: Submitting the application to OIETAI:

Applicant It is recommended to ensure that the information contained in the application form is carefully classified, preferably from the feasibility studies and, if not available, the latest information and data on the project in which you intend to invest. The OIETAI staff can be consulted during the preparatory work for submitting the application.

Stage 2: Examination of the application by the FIB:

The OIETAI prepares a report on the application, which is to be examined by the FIB for a decision. more than 15 working days after receipt of the request. Representatives of foreign investors are usually invited to participate in the FIB meeting. However, the board of directors must make its decision after one month at the latest.

Stage 3: Submission of the draft license:

To ensure that the investor is satisfied with the decision of the Board of Directors, a draft license is sent to the investor before the license is granted. Final investment license. This gives the investor the opportunity to review the details of the licensed content as a sign of non-objection before the final delivery. OIETAI welcomes any comments that contradict the decisions made and stands ready to take the matter on.

Stage 4: Issuance of the investment license:

The final license will not be issued under any circumstances unless the investor officially informs OIETAI of his confirmation of the content of the draft license. In the draft, the definitive investment permit is issued with the signature of the Minister of Economics and Finance. In order to facilitate the preparation of documentation for submission to the OIETAI, one application form has been designed.

Potential investors are asked to contact the OIETAI staff when completing the form. In addition to the specific form to be submitted for the granting of investment permits, other documents can be considered appropriate and/or submitted in addition. By ticking the appropriate checkboxes, ensure that the required documents are attached to the application form.

As explained in stage 2 of the investment approval process, OIETAI staff prepare a report based on the information provided, which is reviewed by the Foreign Investment Board (FIB) for a positive decision. act as the highest authority in the investment approval process The members of the FIB are representatives of the most important executive and decision-making bodies of the government.

  • Deputy Minister of Economic Affairs and Finance and president of the OIETAI, as the Chairman of the FIB;
  • Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs;
  • Deputy Head of State Management and Planning Organization;
  • Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

These four senior officials will serve as permanent members of the Board of Directors. Members at the same level of the rank of the line ministries, depending on the merits of the project under investigation, that a positive role of the responsible ministries in the decision-making process. The decision of the Board of Directors on each individual investment application must be communicated to the applicant as explained in stage 4 above.

As explained above, the final investment permit after receiving written confirmation from the foreign investor stating that the content is acceptable, will be signed and definitively issued by the Minister for Economic Affairs and Finance. The investment permit usually contains the main and basic characteristics of the investment details as well as the rights and obligations of the investor in relation to the sanctioned investment project (if any). The content includes, among other things, the name of the investor; the project or company being invested in; the percentage of participation required for direct investment; the name of the local Iranian investors; and it extends to the volume of the total capital investments to be imported by the foreign investor (s) and their contribution to social capital and, if applicable, the additional financial resources made available by the investor(s).

The License is usually continued with the recognition of the rights of foreign investors to transfer profits, the reimbursement of funds, the payment of fees and allowances for technology transfer agreements (license fees), and finally the right to capital repatriation which may result from the sale of shares or the liquidation proceeds, the capital and the benefit (interest) of the financial facilities and any other transfer of foreign currency in the context of the investment project). The license may also cover other subjects which, in the opinion of the Directors and/or at the request of the investor, are found and deemed necessary to be dealt with accordingly. with a deadline for the import of at least the first capital tranche to be imported into the country for the purpose of commissioning and implementing the project in question.

The price of steel products

All kinds of steel products

The price of steel products With the best price.
Most of us are familiar with steel or one of the products obtained from steel. Steel is an alloy of iron and carbon, which consists of about 0.002 to 2.1 percent of its weight from carbon. If the amount of carbon exceeds 2%, the steel will turn into cast iron. The special and unique properties of steel, including ultimate tensile strength and relatively low price, have made it widely used in various industries such as building construction, infrastructure structures, tools, ships, trains, cars, machinery, equipment and military weapons. . In general, the products obtained from steel include; It is rebar, beam, sheet, pipe, profile can, wire box, wire, stud corner, spray and ingot.

What is alloy steel?
If the amount of carbon exceeds 2%, the steel will turn into cast iron. The strength of steel has a direct relationship with the amount of dissolved carbon. As much as the amount of carbon increases, the strength of the steel increases, but on the other hand, this increase in strength causes the welding ability to decrease and the possibility of brittleness and brittleness of the steel increases. There are more than 3,500 degrees for the production of all kinds of steel. According to the grade, steel can be divided into four categories;

Classified as carbon steel, tool steel, alloy steel, stainless steel. The criterion of this classification is chemical, physical and environmental characteristics.

All kinds of steel products

Rebar
Rebar is one of the most widely used steel products used in the construction industry and urban infrastructure. One of the reasons for using rebar is to increase the resistance of concrete against tensile and rotational forces. Rebars are produced and supplied in two types: simple rebar and rebar in A1, A2, A3 and A4 standards. Rebars are divided into two groups, ribbed and simple, based on their appearance, production method, and application. Grades A2, A3, A4 are placed in the ribbed rebar category and A1 grade is placed in the plain rebar category. For the installation of rebar in the building, there are three calculation characteristics of yield strength, spacer and tensile strength.

Girder
If we want to provide a general and comprehensive definition of iron beam, we must say that iron beam is the main component of building metal frame buildings. In fact, it is not possible to build a metal frame without steel beams. The beam has the task of bearing the load of the building and transferring the loads that enter the building. The two main parts of the beam are called John and Bal. The middle part, which is the main part of the beam, is called the life, and the edges and sides are called wings. Among the advantages of using beams, one is to increase the speed of construction and the other is to occupy less space in building construction. Beams are made in different types and have a relatively large variety. Most of their diversity is in the field of appearance and also their mechanical properties.
Types of iron beams
Types of iron beams can be classified as follows:
1. The IPE beam has an I-shaped shape. It is mostly produced in Iran and Europe. In this type of beam, the thickness of the wings cannot be changed.
2. The INP beam is made according to Russian and Chinese standards, so that the thickness of the wings decreases with distance from the beam.
3. IPB beam or Hash beam is H-shaped. These types of iron beams are wider in such a way that the wings are longer than IPE beams. The wide iron beam or wide wing is H-shaped, and the length of the wings is larger than the IPE iron beam.
4. CPE or honeycomb beams The reason for naming honeycomb beams is that the formation of these beams after operation (cutting and re-welding) and completing the profile is in the shape of honeycomb and hexagon. These types of beams have hollow holes in their length, which are similar to a bee’s nest. For this reason, such beams are called honeycomb.

Oil foil can be used in these cases. It is a sheet that is used to produce galvanized sheet, it is used to produce household appliances such as gas stove or refrigerator cover. This sheet is also used in the production of pipes.
Galvanized sheet
Steel sheets are exposed to corrosion and rust, and since the production of stainless and corrosion-resistant steel sheets is not economical, they use a method called galvanizing.
In cases such as the production of water pipes, cabinet production, water storage tanks and shed roof production, galvanized sheets are used.

color sheet

The colored sheet is actually the same galvanized sheet covered with an electrostatic color coating. Colored sheets have 15 different color variations.
